Slovenian retailer Mercator has closed down a store in Banja Luka just months after formally returning to the market. Mercator is part of the Croatian concern Agrokor.

A notice posted on the Mercator store in Banja Luka reads: “Dear customers, we are informing you that the Mercator store in Nova Varos will cease operations on 1.2.2018. Thank you for your trust and loyalty. We hope that you will continue shopping in one of your closest Mercator stores in Banja Luka“.

Mercator has not issued a statement on the closure.

Mercator returned to Bosnian market on October 2017 with the plan to rebrand 83 stores of Konzum, another Agrokor's retail chain.

Agrokor is loosing ground in Bosnian retail market due to growing power of local companies.
