Leaders reach agreement to unblock European path and IMF loan

Officials of the Republika Srpska, Federation of BiH and Bosnia and Herzegovina have reached an agreement on the coordination mechanism and signed the letter of intent for the arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The agreement was reached today at the meeting in East Sarajevo and the letter has already been sent to Washington.

The agreement on the coordination mechanism was crucial for Bosnia to continue European integration process.

The agreement has been reached at the meeting in motel “Barka”, called by head of the EU Delegation in BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, and attended by leaders of SNSD and SDA parties, Milorad Dodik and Bakir Izetbegovic, and prime ministers of state and both entities.

Wigemark said that they discussed important issues concerning the European integration and the issue of membership in the EU, and praised the progress.
