Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Elmedin Konakovic and the executive director of the Investment Corporation of Dubai, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Konakovic said that that this document is the beginning of cooperation with the one of the largest investors in this region.
Konakovic explained that the Memorandum of Understanding did not specify the projects to be implemented or how long it will takes for their implementation.
As some of the possible areas of cooperation, he cited agriculture and tourism, which has been rapidly developing in the Sarajevo but also throughout the country.
He pointed out that the first focus of the cooperation will be in Skenderija (sports, entertainment and business complex).
In-depth analysis of the space of Skenderija will be done in terms of spatial planning documents and investment, in the next 12-15 months, said Konakovic.
Executive Director Al Shaibani said that Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina are very important for the company.
He added that today's signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is an attempt for a big investment in Sarajevo.
He noted that he had already mediated in bringing airline Fly Dubai in BiH and that he founded the agricultural corporation Zera in our country.
He said that his team is ready and he hopes to have the support from BiH because he wants to get seriously into these projects.
The memorandum provides the possibility for the company to prepare a feasibility study at several locations in Sarajevo Canton and submit to the Government for possible future investments.
