Cheeses from BiH were awarded at the festival held in Belgrade on February 16 and 17. Eco Pudja Livno won a gold medal, and Zlatna Kap from Tesanj won silver.

Mons Produkt from Teslic, Promilk from Prozor and Mandiko from Banja Luka, as well as Kupres Milch dairy, also participated at the festival.

This is the seventh time the Balkan Cheese Festival is held, and the participation of Bosnian cheeses has been noted since the very beginning, when the first prizes came.

This is supported by the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina increased export of cheese to Serbia considerably since the Festival is first time held in 2014.

In 2013, exports amounted to only 40,000 KM, and according to data of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and USAID/Sweden FARMA II project analyzes, Serbia is now the third largest export market for cheese from Bosnia and Herzegovina, with exports in 2017 exceeding 1 million KM.

In 2017, total export of cheese was up by 33% compared to the previous year, to 6.8 million KM.

The first place belongs to Croatia with 38%. It is followed by Montenegro with 28%, Serbia with 15% and Macedonia with 10%, USAID/Sweden FARMA II project said.
